Hi there, Andrea here! I'm a professional dog trainer turned dog photographer, with BFAs in both graphic design and filmmaking. Being around dogs — and dog people — makes me very happy. It’s just that simple.
At Paws and Play Studio, I'm passionate about creating artwork that celebrates your dog and brings you joy. After all, a house isn't truly a home without photographs of the four-legged family!

After booking your session, we’ll connect by phone. I wanna learn all about you and your dog! We’ll discuss the details of the session, wardrobe, and possibilities for displaying your artwork.
We’ll laugh, play and love on your dog. I’ll use my dog-trainer tricks to set up some shots, but don’t worry — there's no pressure for your dog to "perform." It’s time to just paws and play!
We’ll view the best images from our session and design the perfect way to display your photographs, keeping in mind your style and budget. It may feel like Christmas morning on artwork delivery day!

Absolutely! We love capturing the bond between dogs and their owners! Although we primarily focus on dog photography, we’re happy to set aside time to include you with your dog.
Not a problem, we know how to work with dogs of any training level and safety is always our top priority! Believe it or not, most dogs are leashed during the session and we erase the leashes during post processing to produce clean and gorgeous final images.
Rest assured we know how to read canine body language and have lots of patience! If your dog is nervous, we will take our time to get your dog comfortable with yummy treats and toys. We also have long lenses to photograph your dog from more than 10’ away! Keep in mind we don’t recommend Pop-Up Sessions for shy dogs since they tend to need a bit more time with new people, lights, and camera lenses.
We are so sorry to hear this and understand your time with your fur baby is more precious than ever. We always make room in our schedule to hold your tribute session as soon as possible.
There are plenty of beautiful locations for our photo session around the Bay Area. If you have a place in mind, do let us know! Have no clue where you want your dog to be photographed? We can offer plenty of suggestions depending on you, your dog, and the look-and-feel you’re going for. Picturesque spots like your local park, the beach, charming neighborhoods, and the forest are highly recommended for adding depth, texture, and colors! However, for young puppies, senior dogs, shy dogs, or dogs with mobility issues, a home environment can sometimes be the best option. (Pop-Up Sessions take place at predetermined locations around the Bay Area.)
Our outdoor sessions generally take place two hours before the sun sets, or right when the sun rises. When the sun is lower on the horizon, it casts a warm, flattering glow that is not harsh like the midday sun. Depending on the location, we may opt for midday if we’re shooting in an area that’s in complete shade or indoors. Do keep in mind sunset time changes seasonally (later in the summer, earlier in the winter).
We always monitor the weather up to the morning of the session to make sure we have a gorgeous day. If the weather turns out to be bad or unhealthy, we will simply reschedule our session.
Please select the 30-minute time slot that works for you on Saturday, February 13th, 2021. You’ll be prompted to fill out the booking form, agree to our Terms and Conditions, and submit the $149 session retainer. We’ll disclose the exact location and meeting spot during our Planning Consultation!
